- how assign utypes? At present only manual/individual
   * suggest we need a tool or service which will suggest utypes for a
     complete list of columns
- will saadaql converge to ADQL? Yes, but no fixed timescale

Allows unit conversion (some?)

SIA 1 compatible but also more information to allow data discovery via
Char DM
i.e. can use QL or http-param and get back a SIA VOTable, do all the
usual things in TopCat/Aladin

François Bonnarel - Easy publishing of Characterisation metadata via CAMEA

Now can load from URL, Plastic e.g. get a Characterisation file from
Aladin and also edit manually.
- Is mainly aimed at data/tool providers
   * Need a way to follow up one manual construction of an xml doc in
   Camea, with duplication into millions of similar docs for a large
   collection of  images or etc. sharing most characterisation but with
   a few different details.
   * Need links to services to generate ucds etc. automatically
   * Need more basic documentation/links to Char DM description

- Non-parametric e.g. link to line spread function URL
- Parametric - function? direct values?

Priority: Transmission curve - optical/IR/X-ray?
* Suggestion: Start with well-characterised data.  Specify suitable
data handling packages known to understand the calibration and extra interpretation  data in the available format.
* Long-term - generic API (?)

Need to define a set of good practices in order to define UML diagrams and derive ,in a consistent way, XML schemata, documentation, library of classes.
