Resources federation protocols - RFP 

Science Platforms is a hot topic in the news, and it might justify the creation of a new interest group in the future, but not enough to dedicate a whole working group to it. The reason for renaming the GWS group is because Grid is an old technology, so dropping Grid from the name makes sense, but the working group should still keep its original remit of looking after the low level technological details of web services and protocols. The Web Services part of the remit still holds, whether they are SOAP based XML services or REST based JSON services, they are still web services. Our group needs to continue its work on the single sign on authentication protocols, and we need to build on the work started at Bologna looking at updating our web services to use REST and JSON. Based on all this I propose 'Services and Protocols' working group (SPWG)
