IVOA Website
Changes proposed based comments to draft as shown at Victoria Interop 2005-05-19
Home
- Remove calendar and news from Home page
- Fix order of top bar to be in the same order as graphic representation at bottom. Make sure this order change is reflected on all the sub pages too.
- Add "Home" button to top bar per Evanthia. It's not obvious that the words "International Virtual Observatory Alliance" are a link.
About
- Remove document links on "what-is-ivoa" except first and third
- Link only to the latest technical roadmap on "ivoa-roadmap"
- On "wg-contacts" add column to table with the descriptive name of the mailing list. Link should go to the archives with a link at the top on how to subscribe.
- On "members" change VO UK to AstroGrid, United Kingdom
- Changes to Chair, vice chair, etc. for "contacts"
- Add ESA and ESO to "member-organizations"
Members
- Add link to a list of all documents & standards (all versions, as it is now)
- Working Group page (same as the About file) needs to reflect changes to working groups as sent by Paolo:
- Merge VOQL with DAL
- Add Liaison Committee
- Add Science Priorities Committee
Deployers
- TOC update:
- Current list of Standards (list + graphically. ONLY most recent approved documents)
- Software for Deployers (based on euro-vo page)
- Data Publishing: Worked Example
- Application Writing: Worked Example
- Acronyms in Use (Sarah - start with NVO book glossary)
Astronomers
- Add link to "students & amateurs"
- VO Tools & Portals - (list - Sarah - based on euro-vo page)
General:
- Add a contact link to the bottom of each page. Perhaps change the copyright IVOA into a mailto link to ivoadoc@ivoa.net.
Issues Pending:
- Not sure where news and calendar fit in any more. Are they really just aimed at our members, or is it/can it be broader than that?
- Name change to Members section. I think Members sounds fine and not exclusionary, so I have no alternate suggestions.
- I'm not sure I understand the Keith suggestions for the Members page. I need a whiteboard drawing! :)
- Evanthia suggests links to VO papers. Not sure we are going to take over keeping this list, although we do use it in the Newsletter.
- Evanthia also suggests splitting the Vocabulary/Acronym Glossary into one for deployers, and for astronomers.
