Non N-body simulations RoadmapDefinition of the Microsimulation Domain (before Fall 2008 Interop)- list of use cases (to be on the twiki) - determine who is able to implement a reference implementation in the futureFall 2008 INTEROP:At least a session on microsims:
=========================================
- start analysing the microsim domain with 1 or several options:
. from scratch (Gerard's preference I guess)
. evolution of SimDB (for a future v2.0 or simply reuse some general features)
. reuse of others IVOA standards (SLAP, SSA etc.) or improvements.
. close look to SimDM/DAP progress
Spring 2009 INTEROP:
================
- discuss DM/DAP for micro-sims (fully new DM, SimDB evolution, no DM at all, something else? note that SimDB/SimDAP should in RFC at that time)
After Spring 2009 INTEROP:
=====================
The rest of the roadmap depends a lot on the options taken for micro-sims. If we have to develop a DM/DAL from scratch or if we have just to improve existing models, the timescale is really not the same.
Conservatively, I envision to move these efforts to a WG (as for SimDB/DAP) in 2010 at last.
