Towards an EPN-TAP extension for stellar occultation results

Stellar occultations now produce thousands of results each year — astrometry, body size and shape, atmospheres, rings, satellites, and chord-level timings — but no community standard exists for publishing and discovering them across VO services. We propose addressing this gap with an EPN-TAP 2.0 extension rather than a new standalone framework, integrating naturally with VESPA and reusing its parameter sets while adding the small set of fields specific to occultation events. A first prototype VESPA service is being assembled around three published events spanning the relevant feature types — an atmosphere (Triton, October 2017), a ring system (Quaoar, August 2022), and a satellite (Varda's moon Ilmarë, September 2018) — to validate the proposed extension on real, heterogeneous publications.
