IVOA Registry Activity Statement

Work on standards within the IVOA Registry area is part of the IVOA interoperability domain.

Introduction

The key goal of the Registry area is to enable an astronomer to be able to locate, get details of, and make use of, any resource located anywhere in the IVO space, ie in any Virtual Observatory.

What the Future Holds

The major VO projects will host demos at the IAU 2003 conference in Sydney. It would be great if a couple of those projects could demonstrate registry interoperability using an early version of these standards.

There will be an IVOA interoperability meeting held at the IoA, Cambridge in May. A full meeting will take place over two days 15+16 May 2003, with the days 12-14 May 2003 reserved for working group meetings. At the full meeting, the RegistryWorkingGroup will present a progress report on work to date.
