__Do we need this standard?__

Any resource requires a standard subset of metadata to specify its identity, presumably an xml document fragment, eg:

</resourceIdentifier>

Should the identifier for a resource simply be a URI with the other stuff above being part of the ResourceMetadata? -- IVOA.TonyLinde - 27 Jan 2003
