ResourceMetadata < IVOA

This specification will define the minimal data __about__ each resource in registry which must be maintained and queryable.

Should resource metadata be described using [[http://www.w3.org/RDF/][RDF]]? Just the name, __Resource Description Framework__, seems to fit the bill. Would make it easier to transition any metadata into an ontology described using [[http://www.w3.org/TR/owl-absyn/][OWL]].

Metadata specification efforts are under development within the [[IVOARegWp03][RWG work package 3]].  It has two components:

   * core resource metadata concepts, independent of any encoding scheme.  See [[%WIKIHOMEURL%/Documents]] for the latest recommendation currently going through the IVOA Standardization process.  

   * XML Schemas:  see [[IVOARegWp03#Specifications]] for latest versions
