This specification will define the minimal data
about each resource in registry which must be maintained and queryable.
Should resource metadata be described using
RDF? Just the name,
Resource Description Framework, seems to fit the bill. Would make it easier to transition any metadata into an ontology described using
OWL.
Comments
Anyone wanting to look into RDF can look at the
RDF Primer, which is now in a new version (Working Draft 23 January 2003) --

Metadata Specifications
Metadata specification efforts are under development within the
RWG work package 3. It has two components:
- core resource metadata concepts, independent of any encoding scheme. See /twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHomeDocuments for the latest recommendation currently going through the IVOA Standardization process.
