The RFC process of this model is frozen by the Authors

The team is investigating a simpler SSLAP solution that wouldn't use SSLDM2 at all.
if this approach succeed, we do not need SSLDM2 anymore.

SSL-DM V2.0

This is the RFC page for the 2nd version of the Simple Spectral Lines Data Model.

PR document is accessible here

VODML file is accessible here

Reference Implementation

Services implementing SLAP2 / SSLDM 2 :

http://sesam.obspm.fr/19.04/vamdc/slap/capabilities : sprectoscopic VUV data for H2, D2, HD and CO

http://topbase.obspm.fr/19.04/vamdc/slap/capabilities : LS-coupling energy levels for astrophysically abundant ions (Z=1,14; Z=16; Z=18; Z=20; Z=26) computed in the Opacity Project

Implementations Validators

Lines endpoint validator

Species endpoint validator

Slap V2 client prototype has been implemented in CASSIS

You can select the SLAP service in the Cassis database settings menu and display the lines over spectra and click on it to have the informations about the lines. The SLAP database path is http://sesam.obspm.fr/19.04/vamdc/slap/ For more information, see talk about CASSIS at IVOA Groningen 2019-Netherlands

I am no expert on this subject, have some technical comments only for now.

This model is not Single .. but Simple Spectral Lines Data Model (I have fixed the header of this page)

The PDF seems to have been created form th docx with track changes enabled. There is a wide right margin.

The VO-DML file has some issues:

* <name> of the model is 'template'. That name is to be used as prefix when referring to the model, hence would likely need to be something like 'ssldm' or better 'ssl' to conform with other data models that do not add the 'dm' suffix?

* There are a lot of missing descriptions, indicated by elements like the following which are generated by the xmi2vodml pipeline when a missing describption field is found in a UML document.

<description>

TODO : Missing description : please, update your UML model asap.
