<h1>Time Series and Light Curves</h1> <br/> <!-- * Set ALLOWTOPICRENAME = %MAINWEB%.TWikiAdminGroup --> This page is for posting materials and links relevant to the exchange of light curve data. ---+ Use Cases With the increasing importance of synoptic surveys in modern astronomy, the IVOA could expand its repertoire of data objects to include time series data (Light Curves). An interoperable protocol for exchanging light curves would open the current tight connection between data and classifiers. I propose that the IVOA work towards a Simple Light Curve Access Protocol (<nop>SLiCAP) for the following science reasons: * Data from survey A can be analyzed by software from group B * Data from survey A can be compared and fused with data from project B * An internationally standard format for representing light curves ---+ Links --- OMC (Optical Mounting Camera on Integral) <br> http://sdc.laeff.inta.es/omc/help/overview.jsp (Data overview) <br> http://sdc.laeff.inta.es/omc/jsp/ssap.jsp?pos=10,10&size=5 (SSA-based sample query) <br> --- COROT (CNES Satellite for Convections, Rotations, Transits) <br> http://idoc-corot.ias.u-psud.fr/ (Main site) <br> http://nsted.ipac.caltech.edu/NStED/docs/datasethelp/ETSS_CoRoT.html (<nop>NStED page describing COROT) <br> http://sdc.cab.inta-csic.es/corotfa/jsp/ssap.jsp?pos=290.557,1.70154&size=0.01 (SSA-based sample query) <br> --- Swift/XRT GRB lightcurve repository<br/> http://www.swift.ac.uk/xrt_curves/<br/> http://www.swift.ac.uk/xrt_curves/00433160/flux.qdp<br/> --- <nop>CfA Supernova archive<br> http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/supernova/SNarchive.html<br/> example:<br/> http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/supernova/cfasn/cfalc_allsn/sn2005bf_JHK.dat<br/> --- Harvard Time Series Center <br> http://timemachine.iic.harvard.edu/ (TAOS, OGLE, MACHO, PAN-STARRS, <nop>HATNet) <br> --- NSted example<br/> http://nsted.ipac.caltech.edu/ (KEPLER, COROT, <nop>HATNet, etc.) <br/> two kinds of metadata<br/> http://nsted.ipac.caltech.edu/data/NStED/0013/0013192/data/UID_0013192_data_RVC_01.tbl<br/> http://nsted.ipac.caltech.edu/data/NStED/0013/0013192/data/UID_0013192_data_AXA_007.tbl<br/> --- <nop>SimpleTimeseries<br/> A Standard method for sharing time-series data<br/> Bloom at al, UC Berkeley<br/> http://dotastro.org/simpletimeseries/<br/> http://dotastro.org/simpletimeseries/examples/chirp_sts.xml<br/> http://dotastro.org/simpletimeseries/examples/sn2009lw_img_refs_2.xml<br/> --- MAST <br/> http://archive.stsci.edu/kepler/publiclightcurves.html<br/> example<br/> http://archive.stsci.edu/pub/kepler/lightcurves/0020/002010379/kplr002010379-2009166043257_llc.fits --- IVOA Spectral Data Model<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/latest/SpectrumDM.html IVOA SSA Access Protocol<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/latest/SSA.html See 3.1 Model components<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/REC/DM/SpectrumDM-20071029.html#toc-header-6 Sec 8 VOTable serialization<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/REC/DM/SpectrumDM-20071029.html#toc-header-51 Spreadsheet of Utypes<br/> https://webtest.aoc.nrao.edu/ivoa-dal/ssap-keywords.xls --- Extending VOEvent for more complex data<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/Notes/VOEventTables/20100323/ --- Referencing STC in VOTable<br/> http://www.ivoa.net/Documents/Notes/VOTableSTC/
