Many Euro-VO partners are involved in European funded projects and the current period is very busy due to an overlap of two projects. The ASTERICS project (https://www.asterics2020.eu) will finish at the end of April 2019, and the ESCAPE (https://www.escape2020.eu) project began on February 1, 2019.

There have been a number of ASTERICS events in the past months:

ASTERICS DADI Technology Forum 5, Strasbourg, 26-28 February 2019 (https://www.asterics2020.eu/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=open%3Awp4%3Awp4techforum5)

Topics included Time Domain, Provenance and Data Models. A presentation was given by partners involved in the EST (European Solar Telescope), and there was discussion on the use of VO standards in Solar physics. There was also an additional meeting on Radio Astronomy and the VO with participation from ASTERICS and ESCAPE partners (including SKA, ASTRON and JIVE).

ASTERICS DADI (WP4) and OBELICS (WP3) meeting on Authentication and Authorisation, Trieste, 29-30 January 2019 (https://indico.astron.nl/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=199)

There will be final ASTERICS conference (140 participants) where many of the ASTERICS results will be presented:

ASTERICS — The New Era of Multi-Messenger Astrophysics conference, Groningen, 25-29 March 2019 http://multi-messenger.asterics2020.eu/index.php

The ESCAPE project had a kick-off meeting in February 7-8, 2019 in Annecy, France, (https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/18323/)

VObs.it

VObs.it staff continue participating in the ASTERICS project, and have started participation in the ESCAPE project, both EU-funded. VObs.it organised in Trieste the ASTERICS meeting on Authentication and Authorisation on 29-30 January 2019.

Marco Molinaro (currently DAL Chair) and Giulia Iafrate (Doc Coordinator) were appointed to permanent INAF positions.

Funding for VObs.it has been secured by INAF for the 2019 fiscal year.

Collaboration on VO-related activities has started between INAF and ASI: this involves the two data centres (IA2 and SSDC respectively) and VObs.it (IVOA-related) activities.

Two new INAF fixed-term staff have been selected to work full-time within VObs.it. They are expected to start as soon as their working visas are issued (end of March).
